  1. wow amazing all the notches that u guys did on all d studs its not gonna pass plus the trap that u have installed is not legal its an s-trap….upside alittle bit on your cold water..

  2. Well,3 inch pipe grades at 1/4 of a inch per foot (code). There is an s-trap installed for the shower and it is actually illegal.Venting is required for plumbing systems for proper drainage and also to prevent syphonage when other fixtures are draining.36 inch foundation would be the footer and not foundation.Washing machines are 11/2 fixture units and require a 11/2 half drain line with a 11/4 vent line.To the diy-plan out your job well and research as much as possible.Do it nice or twice.G.L.

  3. @oldsoldier17 no. too much pitch is bad cause the water will pass the solids leaving them to dry and cake your pipe closed

  4. That p-trap looked like it didn’t have a vent on it and it was configured as an s-trap. That’s illegal in these neck of the woods. But different municipalities allow different ways of doing things….

  5. how do i connect a toilet to the main drain? im building a kinda shed like house ? and i need to know how to do it?

  6. @billabongcocker nope. it can be 3″. only has to be 4″ after a a third water closet otherwise can be 3″. everyone puts in 4 cuz you get away with 1/8 grade instead of 1/4

  7. im not doubting this guys skill, but with black water the slope is 1/4″ not 1/8″.what ever as long as the shit goes down

  8. yea im pretty sure is still min code vent for a washer is 1 1/4 but its 2″ from the trap to the tee and down and what are yea useing copper for use pex ????

  9. yea and im pretty sure code for that vent is still min of 1 1/4 but it has to be 2″ from the trap to the tee and down

  10. @punkrockplumbob A wet vent system only requires the one size pipe size larger on the drain not the vent .One foot up from wm tee he could have with bell or fitting reducer to 2 inch

  11. @punkrockplumbob What they have is an improper lay out
They should have cut the concrete to hit center of wall and used a double fixture fitting … Clean and easy job

  12. @punkrockplumbob I know what they are doing here .. If you look at the wm stand pipe its to short local code and i’m sure most places the stand pipe must be atleast 18 inchs he falls shorts because it’s roughed in to high because of the lav dran under it

  13. 1/4 inch per foot on a trap arm no matter what size and have you ever heard of a drill you hack notcher
not only that the 3 by 2 comby you used puts the inlet below the wier of the trap which is also illegal

  14. 1/4 inch per foot on a trap arm no matter what size and have you ever heard of a drill you hack notcher

  15. Not to be a bitch….Minimum 24″ stand pipe for washing machine. Canadian code.
Another Strange differnence is our vent pipe termination only has to be 6″ above flood level/ shingles. Weird cause we get more snow for potential blockage.

  16. lav dumps above wm drain …. combo’s are never used on verticals … san tees … all that is needed is a 2inch vent …….. 8 fixtute units on inch and a half 24 fixture units on 2 inch … … well with in 24 fixture units ………….. where did they do this ? like to see a green tag

  17. WOW! this guy actually showed his face! He’s video taping himself giving completely obsurd and incorrect info that will cost homeowners horribly! Its actually on camera!!!! Why would this guy make an instructional vid on a subject he doesnt know about? I see homeowners everyday that have been fooled by these handymen everyday>> its shamefull! he is qualified to be a home inspector!

  18. why is that p-tap look like that wit combo thats not plumbing plus that vent is goin back to the washing machine lol

  19. Im sorry as i watched the video again this guy just keeps giving fucked up imformation. the drain has to have 1/4 inch per foot fall not an 1/8″ anything under 4″ has to have 1/4″ per foot. what a jabroni.

  20. Actually maybe the suds wont reach the lav but the 24″ is an absolute. you just cant wet vent a washer drain.

  21. ExpertVillage should renaming eHow to eHell because almost all of their vids show just horrific examples of shoddy work. Their drywall serious actually made me giggle (rippled and gaps that they SHOW on video!). Their plumbing series must be made according to Somalian Building Code because it just gives really bad advice at times. ExpertVillage needs to go back to the drawing board with the entire eHow series cause right now it more the eHow-Not-To series.

  22. @flagface4 You thinking that water flow from the laundry dumping will pull the water out of the lav ptrap???

  23. I don’t even wanna know what kind of solids he’s gonna put down that bathroom sink, is this some kind of new Redneck Bidet?
